According to data from the Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment), in the first four months of 2019, foreign investment capital reached 14.59 billion USD, up 81% over the same period in 2018. Investors continue to believe that Vietnam is a promising market for long-term development as a result of this positive progress. Hong Kong came in first with 4.7 billion dollars in total investment capital, followed by South Korea with 1.98 billion dollars, accounting for 13.6 percent of total investment capital in Vietnam.
